Chris Tuffey - serial angel investor and former investment banker - joins leadership team
Chris Tuffey – serial angel investor and former investment banker with 37 years experience across EMEA, the US and Asia – has joined Skin In The Game’s senior leadership team as Partner.
Chris has invested in the group and will join Bill Northfield (Former Managing Director, Deutsche Bank), Nathaniel Timbrell-Whittle (Former Managing Director, BNP Paribas), Edward Rhys (DCM SSA, CIBC) and Rhys Beer (Former SVP, OneFootball, ex-Meta) on the cap table.
Skin In The Game is a new FCA-regulated investment group backed by sports industry heavyweights, including Joe Foster the Founder of Reebok, 2x Olympic Triathlon Champion Alistair Brownlee MBE and Roberto Croci from the Public Investment Fund.
The group is a collaborative syndicate of entrepreneurs and investors, working together to identify and invest in early and growth-stage companies with the potential to transform how we live, train and play.
Chris brings with him close to forty years’ of global finance experience. A proven problem solver with a strong risk, governance and deal-making background.
He joined Credit Suisse in 1986 (then known as CSFB) and left his role as Managing Director in 2023, working in London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York during this time.
Over his 37 year career at Credit Suisse, Chris held a number of senior positions, in the Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Origination and Syndication areas.
Chris has huge deal-making experience across every major geographical region including:- Europe, Mid East, Africa, Asia, and Australasia, as well as the North and Latin American markets:- including acquisition financing for major cross-border M&A transactions in investment grade, high yield and emerging markets.
Tuffey's long-standing career reflected his in depth exposure and strong expertise in the capital markets and his hands-on deal experience in major financial hubs across the globe.
Outside of banking, Chris is a serial angel investor and has invested in, amongst others, Tech, Fintech, Hospitality, Sports, Entertainment, FMCG, Health and Wellness start-ups.
Chris also has a long history in governance as the Chair of a school Governing Board and as a NED on the board of several companies - including 67 Pall Mall – a private members' club for wine lovers - with venues open or imminent in London, Singapore, Verbier, Hong Kong, Beaune, Bordeaux and Melbourne.
Chris has joined Skin In The Game’s leadership team as Partner and will be working with CEO Scott Newall as the group builds out their growth-stage investment capabilities.
